Yom Haatzmaut – Israel’s Independence Day

Wednesday is Yom Haatzmaut.   Yom Haatzmaut – or as my Israeli sister calls it “National Barbeque Day” is Israel’s Independence Day. On the 5 Iyar, 5708. Israel has been a state for 72 years since then, and has “flourished like the rose” as the prophet Isaiah predicted. Israel, sometimes called the “navel of the nations” with Jerusalem the “centre of the earth” is strategically placed at the hub of three continents, as Ezekiel 5:5 states, This is Jerusalem! I have set her in the midst of the nations, with countries all around her.

We are watching three thousand year old prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes!

Amos 9:14-15: Yes, I will restore the captivity of My people Israel. They will rebuild desolated cities and dwell in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine. They will also make gardens and eat their fruit. Yes, I will plant them on their land, and they will never again be plucked up out of their land that I have given to them.” Adonai, your God, has said it.
